1001 Steps – Bayview Park

1001 Steps - Bayview Park

1001 Steps is a brand-new walk-in Victoria’s walking program, it was introduced in June 2019. It is not to be mistaken for the Thousand Steps found in Ferntree Gully. 1001 steps were created to be simple and suitable for everyone of all age groups. It’s extremely simple and is easy to lose yourself. Steps themselves are simple, and they are easily accessible to anyone of any age

Due to its short duration, the walk is in reverse (so even if you’re wanting to walk for 20 minutes then don’t bother with the second part). It’s not long enough for a run unless you’re doing a lot of circuits.

The Steps begin at the designated carparkand wind through the mountains before returning to the starting point. There is a designated car park, where parking is not plentiful. The trail is well-defined, always bustling and the trail is simple. The view is good at the top, and it is well worth the short journey. You won’t lose your way unless you take the time to. This walk is suitable for people with weak knees.

Although it’s not yet officially completed it is clear that the 1001 Steps at Bayview Park located in Narre Warren North has already been an instant success. Everyday people looking for breath-taking exercise as well as fresh air park close to the parking lot that’s not open and walking to and down the 800 steps. (Presumably that another 200 steps have yet to be constructed!)

At its highest point , the hill is 160 metres. The views extend to Western Port Bay to the South East and the You Yangs to the South West. The city is also visible and, if you’re lucky you might even spot some of the bay sparkling in the sunlight.

A brand new fitness track is being built in Narre Warren North will go one step ahead of Upper Ferntree Gully’s massively famous 1000 steps.

The formal launch the Bayview Park’s steps 1001 along Quarry Road is scheduled in July of 2019.

Climbers can admire the views that include Casey, Western Port and Port Phillip Bay.

The previously-used Narre Warren tip was transformed into the track that is now landscaped after Casey city councilor Rosalie Crestani commenced the project in 2003.

1001 Steps at Bayview Park provides a sought-after fitness program in the City of Casey.

The park, which is open to the public, and the walking track along the Quarry Road of Narre Warren North, is one of the latest open space initiatives in the region.

Inspired by the 1000 Steps in Ferntree Gully The health-conscious lifestyle has been a hit with locals or visitors who visit the region since it opened in 2019.

The City of Casey completed the project following the discovery that the former landfill could be the perfect site to develop a public space for the residents.

It is the 1001 Steps fitness track

With precisely 1001 steps the course at Bayview Park has been designed to accommodate all levels of fitness and capabilities.

The 1001 Steps are accessible from the car park that was specifically designed for it in Bayview Park.
