Our History
Primary@Pioneers Park was formally opened in October 2005, on the site of the Old Berwick Primary School. This school was the third elementary school in Berwick. The primary school in Berwick was set up in a cabin on Robert Gardiner’s spat the 1850s (south of High Street). Another school was developed in 1861 in Peel Street, inverse St Michael’s Catholic Church. The school moved to the Pioneer Park site in 1869. The earliest piece of the current structure traces all the way back to 1876, because of the 1869 room being annihilated for an augmentation in 1914. The image shows the school c.1880.
The school populace moved to another structure in 2003 and the local area raised assets to buy the site. The old fashioned structure has worked as a bistro beginning around 2006 and is additionally central command of the Casey Cardinia part of The National Trust, one of the Heritage bunches in Casey and Cardinia. They run a gift shop, staffed by volunteers, which sells numerous uncommon and intriguing gifts, notwithstanding National Trust distributions. The gift shop is open 10.00am until 3.00pm, Monday to Saturday.
