Three lakes, gorgeous gardens, stunning views as well as… turtles! This hike walks your through highlights from the magnificent Wilson Botanic Park.
The park is in essence the size of a valley, with one huge lake as well as two smaller ones with a ridgeline that is shaped like a horseshoe. The areas around the lakes the “hidden glen” look.
The stroll through the valley’s bottom valley is a well-known park walk, simple and flat, with manicured gardens and impressive landscaping . It is an easy lakeside walk without a sign any of the cities that surround the park. The walk leads you on a climb up the ridge, which is the park being more open, taking in views of the suburbs surrounding and then back to the lake. The feeling of these two zones is very different – it’s equivalent to walking two times for the cost of one! The walk along the hill will be sufficient to provide a good amount of exercise for what’s still a shorter walk.
In this walk, we haven’t included everything you can look at. There’s also a cliff view, fossil trees and an array of collection of plants which include the Park hosting more than 1,000 species of exotic and native plants. The variety of habitats mean you will likely to encounter various species of birds along with turtles. To explore all the options you can do, download the brochure for the park and the map on the site (link at the bottom of this article) prior to your visit.
It’s a wonderful stroll for children, complete with the playground, the sensory garden, and the opportunity to see the turtles. In all, there’s a variety of features that will keep them engaged. when we went, there were many dog owners walking their dogs, and even more strolling with their children.
